- Coolant: Engine operating temperatures are higher today than ever before. Because of this, the maintenance of the cooling system is very important. With coolant analysis, we do not look for materials from wear components. The main focus is on corrosion levels, conductivity and pH levels.
- Diesel fuel: The use of high-pressure common rail technology and after-treatment systems necessitate increased attention on the fuel system. Fuel testing can help determine the quality of the diesel being used. The fuel injectors of today’s high-pressure common rail engines are running at higher pressures and temperatures than ever before. Any water in the fuel system can create large problems at the injector nozzles. Water or dirt in the fuel system will cause a loss of power and the potential for damage to fuel system components. Fuel samples are also analysed for dirt and microbes. Fuel tanks can harbour microbial life, and this problem is becoming more pronounced due to the use of low-sulphur fuel.
- Fluid testing kits: Some manufacturers provide a variety of fluid testing kits for their customers.
- Additional benefits: A continuous fluid analysis program can increase the resale value of a machine. Fluid analysis provides records that can detail the life of the machine, and is an indication that the machine has been properly looked after, which can justify higher equipment resale values.
