Logging-on’s first issue of June brings the new range of Stage V compliant engines from Ponsse. The logging world will now see a flurry of new engines being introduced in advance of the deadlines for Stage V and Tier V compliance. Tigercat gives us interesting insight into the use of robotic welding to both improve production and quality, as well as assist human welders by removing the difficult welding tasks. Case explains that construction machine control systems are no longer restricted to large-scale construction projects, but now can also be effectively implemented by smaller fleet owners. John Deere has increased their logging machine warranty options for used machines and also implemented extended warranty options. Finally, Volvo continues to take the lead with systems that are able to improve the safety of truck drivers and other road users.
