New Products - Timbear Lightlogg C

If you go down to the woods today, there is a bear leaving a lighter paw-print than usual.

Timbear AB is a Swedish company formed in 2008 that has its origins in a forest machine concept developed by Jan Erikson in the early 2000’s. The business concept was to develop, assemble and market machines for timber harvesting on ground with poor bearing capacity or in protected areas.

Their first product is called the Timbear Lightlogg C and is a light combined harvester and forwarder with very little soil impact. It tries to achieve as much ground contact area as possible to improve flotation. 60 cm wide driven tracks are used to achieve this. All the bogies have the same design with separate hydraulic operation. The Lightlogg C focuses on thinning operations and therefore the machine width has been kept narrow.

The Lightlogg C can be changed from a harvester into a forwarder (and vice versa) in 30 minutes. There are two separate load carriers. The load area of each carrier can carry 5,000 kg (11,000 lb), providing the equivalent of a 10 tonne (22,000 lb) forwarder. Some key technical specifications are included in the table below.
