New Deere's released in North American

John Deere has introduced their G-Series wheeled harvesters to North American markets.

The G-Series harvesters have been available to the European market since 2015. Their application ranges from final felling to late thinning. The 1270G and 1470G harvesters have increased power, torque and tractive force, and have upgrades to the controls. The G-Series make use of Standard Processing Power Control (PPC) to optimise fuel efficiency by matching the appropriate processing level to the work conditions and size of the tree. The operator selects which mode is appropriate (Energy Saving, Normal or Boost) and the PPC does the rest of the work. The PPC system anticipates the engine load and responds with the correct power increase, improving the fuel economy. A twin-pump hydraulic system ensures sufficient power for smooth, simultaneous operation and maximum control of the boom and harvester head. John Deere explains that this feature ensures sufficient grip on the trunk of the tree. The harvesters use the new TimberMatic™ H-16 control system, which has increased processing capacity. A redesigned cab improves operator comfort, and is available with either a rotating and levelling or fixed cab option.

The 1270G is available with six or eight wheels. It is equipped with a John Deere 9.0L Tier 3 engine. The six-wheel model has increased power (190 kW / 255 hp), and an 11 percent increase in torque compared to previous models. The eight-wheeled version is designed for steep slopes and soft terrain. The 1270G uses the CH7 boom. Owners can select from multiple harvester heads, including the H754, H413, H414, H270 Series II, H480C and H415.

The 1470G is John Deere's largest wheeled harvester and has the same features and benefits of the smaller 1270G. It has high ground clearance, making it suitable for difficult terrain. It is equipped with the same engine as the 1270G. The 1470G uses the CH9 boom. The good stability of the 1470G makes it possible to work even if the boom is fully extended. The CH9 boom's slewing cylinders are positioned parallel to the harvester's frame, improving the hosing and cabling. The CH9 boom is available in three reach options: 8.6 m (28.2 ft), 10 m (32.8 ft) and 11 m (36.1 ft), with 225 kilonewtons (166,000 pound-foot) of lifting torque. The H415, H480C, H270 Series II and H290 harvester heads can be used with the harvester. Source: https://www.deere.com/en_US/corporate/our_company/news_and_media/news_and_media.page
