Logset adds two new harvesters to their 8-wheeled GTE range

The 10H GTE and 12H GTE Hybrid are the largest harvesters ever built by Logset.

The new harvesters are designed for large forest areas and big timber volumes. The largest Logset harvesters ever now complete the GTE harvester range. Logset indicate that currently more than 50% of their harvesters sold are 8-wheeled, indicating a growing demand for 8-wheeled machines.

The Logset 10H has been replaced by the 10H GTE. The 8-wheeled harvesters have good stability on steep terrain. It makes used of 750/26.5 tyres for good flotation. The harvester is fitted with a Mesera 280 crane and is powered by an Agco Power 7.4 l engine that produces 220 kW (300 hp) of power. The machines are well suited to handling large timber on difficult terrain.

The 12H GTE Hybrid uses technology that Logset describes as “revolutionary” for the forest machine industry. Electrical energy in the hybrid system supports the Agco Power 7.4 l engine by providing an extra power boost. Torque of 2000 Nm is available at normal working revs. The combination of the engine and the hybrid system can provide up to (382kW) 520 hp. The harvester is fitted with the high lifting capacity Mesera 285 crane, which is the biggest parallel crane on the market. The wheels used by the hybrid harvester are larger than the standard 10H GTE, being fitted with large 780/28.5 wheels. This increases ground clearance and improves stability and driving comfort. The harvester is fitted with double 210 cc hydraulic work pumps, providing good hydraulic flow for optimal production. Logset indicate that the fuel consumption has decreased by approximately 25% compared to a similar diesel engine application.
