Bandit introduces two new hand-fed chippers

The 990HD and 1390XP will appeal to the user with lower volume chipping requirements.

The machines are designed for manoeuvrability and can easily be towed from one site to another. Both models have hydraulic in-feed rollers. The previous 990 model has been given new diesel engine options to create the 990HD. It can chip small trees and branches up to 12 inches (30 cm) diameter using an engine with power options up to 115 hp (86 kW). It has an infeed opening of 29 by 45 inches (74 by 114 cm) and uses a drum with a 24 inch (61 cm) diameter. Optional equipment includes a winch which can be used to pull large material closer.

The 1390XP is based on the 1490XP. It can chip material up to 13 inches (33 cm) wide and has a 15.75 by 19.5 inch (40 by 50 cm) chipper opening leading to the 37 inch (94 cm) diameter drum. The larger drum allows for slower operating speeds, which reduces vibrations and improves fuel efficiency. It also allows chipping to take place on the bottom part of the drum so the knives can cut with the wood grain. The chipper is offered in two versions, which allows the option of a 13 inch (33 cm) or 15 inch (38 cm) cutting capacity. The larger capacity chipper also has a larger in-feed opening. Engine options range from 84.5 to 142 hp (63 to 106 kW) and the chipper can be supplied with various engine brands.
