Logging-on’s second issue of September brings several new machines and technologies to our readers. To begin with, Ponsse have announced their Opti 8 onboard computer system which promises to take machine telematics to the next level. Eco Log have expanded their forwarder range with the new 584F, which is the 6th forwarder in their range and can take a payload of 16 tonnes. Komatsu Forest have given serious thought to exactly what is needed for forwarders that operate almost exclusively in thinning. Their new Thinning Expert concept allows the necessary focus for thinning optimisation. Nokian is now rolling out their Intuitu smart tyres which make use of sensors to better manage machine tyres. Finally, we marvel at the technological development that JCB has put into their legendary new backhoe loader – the 3CX.
