Logging-on’s first issue of May carries a strong harvester flavour, with Tigercat, John Deere, Logset and Ponsse all featuring. Tigercat continue the development of their harvester head range, and in this issue, we bring the new 534 harvester head designed to integrate with Tigercat’s 1165 wheeled harvester. Tigercat has also expanded their range of grapples, and we bring a summary of the new line. John Deere has released their new 900 MH-Series tracked harvesters that make use of intelligent boom control. An interesting research study has quantified the different in productivity and fuel consumption between a wheeled hybrid harvester and its standard equivalent. The Logset 8H GTE was used for this purpose. Finally, Ponsse received another award related to their product innovations. This time it is related to the cabin of the Ponsse Scorpion harvester.
