Logging-on’s second issue of May brings several new logging machine developments and enhancements. We begin with the new H423 harvester head from Waratah. It is specialised to be highly productive in thinning operations. Then forwarders get all the attention, with both Ponsse and Komatsu Forest presenting new crane technologies and products that allow simplified boom movements to allow both inexperienced and experienced operators to be more productive. Still with a part focus on forwarders, we look at the new and improved polycarbonate windows on John Deere G-Series harvesters and forwarders. Finally, we examine new truck tyre label regulations from the EU that will include aspects such as rolling resistance, wet grip and external rolling noise.
