Logging-on’s first issue of May brings a new publication on managing occupational safety and health in forestry operations. The compendium, published by the FAO, brings subject experts together from various parts of the globe to compile a comprehensive resource of information for global forestry practitioners and training institutions. The document is free for download from the FAO website. We bring further news of the developments within the merger of Eco Log and Gremo. This involves merging the product lines and branding of the two companies. Kesla has invested in a new test centre which will allow it to both improve product quality and carry out training. MAN explains some of the forestry related transport applications of their TGS line of trucks. Finally, we examine the new L-Series loaders produced by John Deere.
