As Covid-19 sweeps across the globe, no one and no industry is spared the effects. The effects on commercial forestry operations are well understood in the various geographic areas and Logging-on will instead maintain its focus on forest engineering technology related matters. However, in this final issue of March, we do give our readers insight in the Newsflash section into the effects of the pandemic on some of our equipment manufacturers.
We start this issue of Logging-on by providing important sanitising advice for forestry machines. Ponsse have provided us with good information to keep forestry machine cabs clean to prevent the possible further spread of the virus. We understand that it is common for more than one operator to work on a machine due to shift systems and there are also other supervisory and maintenance personnel that also must make contact with the machine.
We then look at some of the new technology available to the forest engineering fraternity. The first is the new Cat 315 excavator, the second is the new G Series wheeled loaders from Case, and finally the new Nokian Hakkapeliitta Truck E2 tyre and Noktop Hakkapeliitta E2 retread option. We also celebrate the record financial achievements of Logset during the 2019 financial year.
