In Logging-on’s second issue of March, we witness the continual move towards the use of sensors and technology to improve the management of our fleets. BPW has developed a brake lining wear monitoring system that is able to determine how much lining remains on trailer brakes. This enables managers to schedule replacement at a time suitable to the fleet. Palfinger assist us in determining whether L-cranes or Z-cranes are more suitable for our timber handling operations. The new Rayco forestry mulcher can also be used as a stump processor and contains a number of new features. Nokians reputation for producing excellent forestry tyres is well known. They now move further ahead with the introduction of four new products. Finally, we examine the ride-on tractor from Vermeer that can be used as a carrier for multiple attachments.
