In this first issue of July, Logging-on brings a mix of useful management information and new products to the logging community. Oregon provides us with valuable information on why chainsaw kickbacks occur and what can be done to reduce the risk of a kickback occurring. Logging-on brings new research results that investigate whether the onboard computer settings of harvesters can have an effect on fuel consumption. Husqvarna has been giving thought to their strategic structure and will be moving towards an increased focus on their core brands. Then we move to the new products which were unveiled at Interforst. CBI have produced a new truck-mounted high-production chipper and Kesla have made a number of innovative changes to their truck-mounted cranes.
