In Logging-on’s first issue of February, we begin by introducing the new 602 grapple skidder from Tigercat. It is built to handle difficult and steep terrain yet is narrow enough to work in selective felling operations. Waratah has produced a new felling head – the FL100 – that is well suited to large carriers for felling and shovelling large trees. John Deere has made improvements to their 337E and 437E knuckleboom loader models to specifically reduce noise and heat in the cabs. Husqvarna makes steady progress with battery powered chainsaws across their various market segments. The latest products are electric saws for professional arborists. Finally, and while still dealing with electric powered machines – JCB has produced what is basically a mega-sized power pack for recharging electric machines on site.
