Tigercat releases their new 5195 felling head

The 5195 is a robust directional felling head for tracked carriers.

The new head with directional capabilities builds upon Tigercats successful introduction of the 5185 fixed bar saw. It is suited for felling, shovel logging, bunching, stacking and sorting. The 5195 has a 1,145 mm (45 in) saw bar used for felling and bucking. It has a heavy duty construction, lending itself to difficult working conditions. Good performance is obtained through the high torque rotary manifold, which also allows large trees to be controlled. The 5195 would usually be paired to the S855C or LS855C Tigercat carriers, where it can be used for large timber logging in South America, Australia and New Zealand. A new stick boom was specifically developed for the head and features full integrated hose guarding. Tigercat indicates that two units have already been sold into Chile, and a third has been purchased by a New Zealand customer. Some of the key specifications are included in the table below.
