Tigercat releases new Tier 4 Final D-series harvesters

The H855D and LH855D harvesters are available in Tigercats North American and European markets.

The new D Series harvesters use Tigercat FPT N67 Tier 4 Final engines, which produce 210 kW (282 hp) of power. The engines are fully supported by Tigercat and the Tigercat dealer network. The C Series H855C and LH855C harvesters will still be manufactured for markets that do not require Tier 4 emissions compliance. The new D Series harvesters are available with two-piece or telescopic ER boom systems. The ER boom technology allows the machine operator to extend and retract the boom on a horizontal plane smoothly and quickly using a single joystick. The stick boom or ‘reach’ joystick controls both the main and stick booms simultaneously, moving the harvester head either away from or toward the operator. The main boom and tilt functions operate in the traditional manner to adjust the height and angle of the attachment.

The engine provides excellent power to allow the carriers to maintain hydraulic flow as the pressure increases. This provides good feed speeds to increase productivity. The H855D series carriers are perfectly matched with the Tigercat 575 harvester head. For steep slope conditions, the LH855D uses Tigercat’s patented levelling system for good stability. Two very large hydraulic cylinders and heavy steel sections provide levelling capabilities that are simple and robust. Tigercat explains that due to the unique geometry of the levelling system, the machine is stable on slopes. To provide even more difficult terrain handling capability, the ramped undercarriage, where both the front idler and the rear gearbox are set higher than the centreline of the undercarriage, allows the harvesters to easily drive up over rocks and stumps.
