The Sennebogen 718 tracked carrier is designed for difficult terrain and restricted spaces

Sennebogen has expanded their forestry line-up with a carrier that features a telescopic boom and height adjustable cab.

The 718 R Forestry is a 24 t tracked carrier. It has been designed with a robust undercarriage for forestry conditions and 0.6 m (2 ft) of ground clearance to allow passage over obstacles. The drive unit is designed to cope with difficult logging conditions. It has a maximum track width of 0.8 m (2.6 ft) for good traction, stability and flotation. The cab can be elevated up to 4.8 m (15.7 ft) for good operator visibility of the work site when required. Boom reach is an impressive 13 m. It has a reversing camera as standard equipment, which enables safe slewing and manoeuvring.

The 718 can operate between trees as close as 4.5 m (14.8 ft) apart and it has a transport width of under 3 m (10 ft), enabling it to be transported on a standard flat-bed trailer. It can be fitted with a variety of attachments, including a collector unit for biomass harvesting, a harvester head or a log grapple. Swopping between the attachments is relatively quick due to a quick change system. It is powered by a 117 kW (159 hp) Cummins engine. It has two separate hydraulic circuits, which allows one circuit to exclusively supply the attachments. The 718 can also be equipped with a wheeled undercarriage, in which case the model designation is 718 M. This unit would be commonly used for loading.
