The Silverback 12F GT 20 ton forwarder is the latest technology laden machine from Logset.
The purpose of the 12F GT is to carry large volumes of timber in extreme conditions, while ensuring good protection for both the operator and the engine. The forwarder has a new, more powerful 221 kW (300 hp) engine that meets the emission requirements of Tier IV (4). The engine combined with the 28.5'' tyres and tractive force of 250 kN make the machine robust and able to carry up to 20 t of timber on extremely steep terrain . The Mesera 142, one of the strongest cranes on the market, is able to lift heavy loads efficiently and precisely to the large heavy-duty load bay.
Logset make use of DeX, a new system that combines protection and performance in the most challenging terrain. The protective deceleration assistant controls the machine hydraulically in situations requiring higher engine braking moment, for example when driving in steep conditions. The protective deceleration assistant does not only improve the safety and comfort of the operator, but also protects the engine from an overspeed moment. DeX contributes to minimised wear and tear of the engine especially when working in extreme conditions and so increases the lifetime of the engine and transmission components.
