The Tanguay slasher is a wheeled loader with integrated slasher.
The TS150B is a two axle wheeled machine. The front axle is for steering and is non-driven, while the rear axle is driven using a planetary drive. It is powered by a 215 hp (160 kW) Mercedes engine. The TS150B uses a circular saw for the slashing function. The saw is 60 in (1,524 mm) in diameter and has 40 carbide tipped teeth. The slasher is integrated into the machine, instead of being a stand-alone unit being powered by an independent loader. The long log lengths or trees are placed along the longitudinal access of the machine. Once slashing has taken place, the slashed logs are picked up out of the cradle and stacked. Stopper kits can be purchased that allow for logs of different lengths to be produced.
It has a lift capacity of 27,000 lb (12,250 kg) and a maximum reach of 32 ft (9.7 m). It has full lift capacity over 360 degrees enabling it to pick up tree lengths from anywhere within reach and place the resultant logs in any desired location. The slasher has three forward and three reverse gears, allowing a maximum speed of 10 mph (16 km/hr). This allows quick and easy movement between work sites. Extended shifts can be worked due to a large 140 gallon (530 litres) fuel tank. The TS150B weighs in at 55,000 lb (24,948 kg). Source: www.tanguay.cc
