RoadEng, commonly used in forestry roading applications, now appears as Version 7.
Version 7 includes a variety of new features such as Design Time Costing, Smart Pits, and Optimal Haul calculations based on Softree Optimal technology. Softree Optimal is a new technology which uses sophisticated mathematics to solve cost, movement and alignment geometry problems. It allows you to quantify your work, consistently find better design solutions, save engineering time and reduce construction costs. Version 7 has greatly improved functionality. It includes a variety of improvements in drafting, import/export, grading, visualization, terrain modeling, design and reporting. Version 7 runs on Windows 8.1 tablet devices. This enables the user to take the design and mapping infield to carry out preliminary design and analysis. Version 7 is also faster, allowing speed improvements in terrain modeling, LiDAR processing, alignment and volume calculations to allow the user to work faster and get more done. Softree have improved all its major interfaces including current versions of Arcview®, AutoCad®, LandXML and Google Earth®. Design Time Costing allows one to quantitatively compare designs. Optimal Haul Calculation and Smart Pits allow one to calculate and display the lowest cost material movement. This includes borrow, waste and sidecast.
