Maccaferri is an Italian company founded in 1879. We mostly know them for their gabion baskets and mattresses. However, their product range has expanded drastically in recent years, and they have provided us with tools to cost-effectively and professionally sort out many of the challenges that we face. These include flood protection, landslide control, channel linings, embankment stabilisation and erosion control. They also manufacture a range of geotextile and erosion control blankets. • BioMac – A biodegradable erosion control blanket made from coconut fibres and polypropylene netting.
• MacMat – A three dimensional erosion control blanket made from entangled polypropylene mono-filaments.
• Green Terramesh – A modular soil reinforcement system for mechanically stabilised earth slopes and embankments.
• MacDrain – A light and flexible geocomposite material with a drainage core of looped polypropylene filaments. It is covered on both sides with a polyester geotextile to provide high drainage capacity.
