Timber transport – Volvo starts selling heavy hybrid trucks.
These Volvo FE Hybrid trucks are being sold to selective customers in Europe. The truck has fuel savings of up to 30%. The truck has a diesel engine and electric motor (parallel hybrid) that can be used simultaneously or independently of each other, switching automatically between power sources. No external sources of electrical charging are required; it makes use of the energy generated from braking. Source: www.volvotrucks.com

Safety manual for knuckleboom log loader.
AEM (Association of Equipment Manufacturers) has released a new safety manual for knuckleboom log loaders. The manual covers knuckleboom loaders that are equipped with a grapple and are either stationary or mounted on a truck, trailer, rubber-tired carrier or crawler. Deere’s biggest ever ADT produced.
