Elforest builds a hybrid electric prototype with Ponsse

The Elforest electric turbo was installed in a Ponsse Ergo harvester. The electric turbo helps the diesel engine and hydraulic pumps to rapidly provide extra power when large amounts of power are suddenly needed, by restoring engine speed. Ponsse releases positive 2014 financial statements

Ponsse achieved net growth of 25 % in net sales, operating profit of over 10 % and cash flow from operations of Euro 37.5 million. The order book looked very positive at year-end, with a 59 % growth compared to 2013, with the order value at year-end being Euro 158.4 million. Russia and North America were strong during 2014. Improvements were also seen in European markets such as Finland, Germany, France and Great Britain. 2015 is expected to also show growth, resulting in the capacity of the factory being increased.
