New running skyline cable yarder from Owren

Norwegian cable yarder manufacturer, Owren, have released the new Owren 350.

The Owren 350 has a fixed tower and is built on a Prinoth Panther tracked carrier. It is operated using a wireless remote control system. Two joysticks are used to control the entire system. The hydrostatic drive system provides for variations in speed and pulling power, and can have line speeds of up to 8 m (26 ft) per second. The key information is included below:

The drum capacities are as follows:
  • Engine: Cat C7 producing 168 kW (225 hp) of power.
  • Winch drive: Hydrostatic interlock system for power transfer.
  • Operational reach: 350 m (1,150 ft) when used as a running skyline system.
  • Pulling capacity: A load capacity of 6,000 kg (13,230 lb).
  • Tower: Hydraulic telescopic tip tower with a total height of 15 m (49 ft).
  • Carriage: A three-section drum type carriage when used as a running skyline. It has a 35 m (115 ft) hoist line.
