As SP puts it, it is a “head full of energy”! SP’s latest product development is the 401 EH harvesting head designed for felling and accumulating small trees primarily for biofuel.
The head has four large grapple arms for being able to grab coppice stems, as well as for presenting bundles for the forwarder and for loading or offloading. It also has four accumulating arms for being able to cut and accumulate several smaller trees before placing them on the ground. It is equipped with a ¾ inch saw unit for being able to cut off many smaller trees at once without the chain coming off. The head has been designed to handle smaller brushwood stems as well as larger trees.
The head can be attached to any midsize wheel based carrier that can handle a head of 700 kg´s, or an excavator carrier from 14 tons. The head has a maximum cutting diameter of 630 mm, a maximum grapple opening of 1508 mm and weighs 690 kg including the rotator. Your carrier must be able to supply a minimum pump capacity of 185 litres per minute and a receiving work pressure of 23 to 25 Mpa. Source: www.spmaskiner.se
