New Products - Refined Komatsu 901TX.1 thinning harvester

Komatsu’s popular wheeled harvester features a new, fuel efficient engine.

The harvester features a new E3-Power engine, which has achieved considerable fuel savings during field testing compared to Stage A/Tier 3 models. The E3-Power stands for Environmental, Economical and Efficient. Komatsu set out to achieve maximum combustion efficiency with the new engine, which reduces the amount of exhaust particulates to be filtered. Therefore, fuel consumption is reduced without compromising engine performance.

The 901 TX.1 also features a “comfort” bogie concept and large 62 cm (24.5 inch) tyres, which provide low ground pressure and therefore less soil compaction and root damage. The harvester can be equipped with a 10 m (32 ft) or 11 m (36 ft) crane, which Komatsu claims has the highest lifting torque on the market (170 kNm / 62.7 ton-ft), assisting greatly in steep terrain.

In line with current trends, the 901 TX.1 cab is spacious with ample space for the operator. It is equipped with the MaxiXplorer 3.0 control system. The harvester is available in a four and six-wheel drive option. Selected specifications are included in the table below.
