Trimble’s new Ranger series includes a host of features, including GPS, camera and barcode scanner.

The Trimble Ranger 3 has a large sun-readable display and long-life battery. It is designed to be ultra-tough, being able to withstand temperature extremes, drops, vibration, humidity and altitude. It is sealed against dust and can be submerged in a meter of water for 30 minutes. It has an integrated GPS receiver, 5 megapixel camera and a laser barcode scanner to capture asset data such as log-tagging.

The GPS receiver, combined with an electronic compass and accelerometer, provide location, direction and motion data on one device. Data can also be captured directly, using the alphanumeric keypad and large touchscreen. The integrated 3G GSM WWAN, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, allows the Ranger 3 to connect and communicate wirelessly to other devices, the internet and corporate networks, allowing data synchronisation with office servers and databases from the field.

The Ranger 3 includes the Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional operating system. It has a fast processor (Cortex-A8) and 8 GB of Flash memory. Source: www.trimble.com
