New Products - New harvesters from Komatsu

Komatsu (ex Valmet) has released two new harvesters, the 931.1 and 911.5.

Both harvesters have new engines, which have better fuel consumption (16%) and lower emissions achieved through Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). The SCR reduces nitrogen emissions by installing a catalytic converter after the engine in the exhaust system and adding a special liquid to the exhaust system. The engine is also quieter as the catalytic converter helps reduce noise.

Komatsu has worked on improving operator comfort. The new cab increases visibility, air quality and ergonomics. The cabs are spacious; with the 931.1’s cab being full-circle slewing and levelling. The slewing action is also very quiet due to the cab having direct drive slew transmission. The cab of the 911.5 has a large air intake and extra pre-filter on the air conditioning, ensuring a large volume of clean air.

Another key feature on the new harvesters is a sturdy rear axle with integrated hose routing. This improves reliability, as does the use of soft-sealing ORFS (O-Ring-Face-Seal) throughout the harvesters to minimise oil leaks. These soft-sealed couplings are based on two flat surfaces; one is fitted with an o-ring that creates a seal against the flat surface of the opposite coupling section.

To enhance machine performance and functionality, both harvesters are supplied with the new MaxiXplorer 2.1. The key specifications are included below.
