This is Petersons largest horizontal grinder for high output requirements.
6710D is designed for operations that need a durable, high output machine. It is powered by an 839 kW (1125hp) Tier II, Caterpillar C32 engine or an optional Tier IVi Caterpillar C32 engine. It has a feed opening of 127 x 168 cm (50 x 66 inches) allowing it to even process large stumps that usually required tub grinders. This tracked grinder is well-suited for land clearing operations or other applications where mobility is desired.
With the R+ package, the 6710D can be configured as a mid-speed grinder to handle heavily contaminated piles, and easily converts back to a high speed grinder for typical land clearing operations. It makes use of a three-stage grinding process with an up turning rotor and large grate area, which allows the 6710D to produce materials to accurate specifications. A quick-change multiple grate system allows the owner to customize grate configurations to produce a wide variety of finished materials. Grates are removed through an access door on the side wall.
