New free-access training material to accompany the books Working in Harvesting Teams

The web-based access provides free training material and a glossary of terms.

The popular logging books, Working in Harvesting Teams, Part 1 "Basic Knowledge" and Part 2 "Practical Production", now have an additional resource to extract maximum value. The training material follows the structure of Per-Erik Persson’s comprehensive books. Each chapter in the book is divided into various lessons, which follow certain pages in the book. The lessons describe things that the operate must be able to do, general questions (warm up questions) and then describe the learning tasks. Extra material is provided for in each lesson in the form of case studies or glossaries. A glossary practice for each chapter is provided, which has the objective of helping one recall and eventually learn the English terminology in the selected languages. A “test yourself” section for each chapter provides exercises, crosswords and word puzzles. Each chapter also has a very comprehensive and useful reference list, which allows one to read much more widely on the subject area.

Also available is a glossary of technical forestry terms. For the glossary, 1300 words have been taken from Working in Harvesting Teams and translated into over 15 languages. To access all of the free training material or purchase the books, access http://www.mieab.se/english.html
