New engine for John Deere feller bunchers and harvesters

The 700-Series tracked feller-bunchers and harvesters have a new 9.0 litre engine.

John Deere’s 9.0 litre PowerTech Plus 6090K engine is now being used in their 700-Series compact (zero tail-swing) tracked feller bunchers and tracked harvesters. This engine replaces the previous 8.1 litre engine used. The new engine delivers 180 kW (241 hp) of power, allowing for higher logging productivity and improved reliability and durability.

The engine features an electronically controlled high-pressure common rail fuel system, allowing improved fuel efficiency, even though more power is produced. The engine has an extended 500 hour oil service cycle, and couple with extended filter capabilities, assists in reducing operating costs. John Deere’s 700-Series compact tracked feller bunchers and harvesters are ideally suited for steep-slope logging or logging in confined spaces. Source: www.JohnDeere.com
