New D37-23 and D39 crawler dozers from Komatsu

The dozers have been designed for a variety of work such as forestry, grading, land clearing and site work.

The dozers have 66 kW (89 hp) or 78 kW (105 hp) engines (at 2,200 rpm), and operating weights from 8,340 kg (18,386 lbs) to 9,690 kg (21,363 lbs), depending on the model and configuration. A full guarding package, hydraulic winch and other attachments are available to meet customer requirements. Long track-on-ground standard (EX) and low ground pressure (PX) models are available to offer customers flotation and weight distribution options to best match their applications. Selected features of the new dozers are as follows:

  • Tier 4 Interim and Stage 3B emission certified engine: Fuel consumption is reduced by up to 10% compared to previous models.
  • Blade visibility and ride: A steeply sloped engine hood and a forward cab design provides more room for the operator and moves them closer to the blade. This provides better blade visibility and ride quality. Large glass windows also improve visibility.
  • New durable and productive power angle tilt (PAT) blade: Material is rolled efficiently. A standard adjustable blade pitch allows the operator to adjust the aggressiveness of the cutting edge for various applications.
  • Next generation hydrostatic transmission (HST) and engine control technology to improve fuel economy: Two working modes are available, Economy (E) and Power (P). New engine and HST pump control technology increase productivity by 4% over conventional HST control systems, while improving fuel consumption by up to 10% in P mode and 20% in E mode.
  • Newly designed joystick controls for power and comfort.
  • A new cab design improves the operator environment: Interior cab decibels are reduced to 70 dB (D37-23) and 72 dB (D39-23), and a standard air ride seat further improves operator comfort.
  • Komatsu CARE: Complimentary scheduled maintenance is standard for the earlier of three years or 2,000 hours.
  • Maintenance convenience: Daily engine checks are grouped at the left-hand side of the engine compartment. The engine oil can be drained at the front of the machine without crawling under it. The hydraulic fan can be easily swung-out for easy checking of components. A reversing fan allows for quick cleaning of the side by side coolers.
