The Barracuda is a single-rotor, low-speed shredder for wood and other waste streams.
The shredder was designed by OBMtec, Morbarks European dealer, and is manufactured at Morbark’s factory in Michigan. The Barracuda has a ground-level adjustment door that allows the grates to be adjusted in as little as two minutes. The counter knives can be adjusted to five different heights. The setting for waste wood or stumps for example, is higher than for industrial waste. Setup options permit from 20 to 40 hammers and counter knives, which facilitates the correct speed and output quality. The single rotor and bolt-on hammer inserts results in reduced maintenance time. The internal rotor gearbox has high torque for good fuel efficiency, and a large hydraulic reservoir that allows lower operating temperatures.
