Logset launches an innovative harvester attachment for excavators

Both the bucket and the harvester head are mounted to the end of the excavator boom.

The THXtender preparation kit from Logset is used to transform an excavator into a harvester. The kit consists of a Logset harvester head (TH65, TH75 or TH75X), an extender boom with bucket and the TOC-MD measuring device. The THXtender boom is designed to make the excavator more versatile. The bucket at the end of the boom can be used for small earthmoving tasks such as moving stones or levelling ground. The bucket can also be used to pull or push the excavator when operating on difficult terrain, or used as support when making sharp turns or crossing a ditch.

The boom provides for an additional 3m (10ft) of reach, allowing for more trees to be accessed from one position. When the bucket is used or when the excavator is travelling longer distances, the head grabs the boom to prevent it from swinging. The excavator can then travel faster without fear of damaging the head. Logset indicates that the hoses leading to the harvester head are well protected inside the boom.
