The video is titled “Be Seen, Be Safe, Be Alive”, and is used in the ProLogger training programme. Safety on log decks is the focus, with emphasis placed on keeping a safe distance between equipment and workers on the ground. The video examines three safety aspects by examining actual incidents that took place. The video encourages workers to have a thought process that focusses on safety and working smarter. All of the incidents examined relate back to the two tree-length safety distance between people and machines. Other aspects that the video emphasises include wearing bright clothing so that workers can easily be seen by machine operators, and ensuring that communication is good between all crew members.
The video can be used for one-on-one training or for a group. No discussion leader is necessary, as the narrative allows the video to be used stand-alone. The video is available in DVD format and costs $ 40.00 for Forestry Association members and $ 80.00 for non-members. To order, access http://loggingsafety.com/sites/loggingsafety.com/files/13r7.pdf
