Kobelco introduces the new SK260 and SK300 High and Wide Excavators

The new excavators have been designed to be used for forestry applications.

Designed specifically for forestry applications, these new excavators have good ground clearance and increased crawler width for improved performance on rough or hilly terrain. Travel is smooth and less hindered on forestry sites that have stumps and rocks due to an increased ground clearance of 0.8m (2’7”) on both models, as well as double grouser shoes for better grip. The extra crawler width of 3.6 (11’8”) on the SK260 H&W and 3.7 m (12 ft) on the SK300 H&W allows for good stability and improved lifting capacity.

The excavators use Tier IV Final HINO engines. The 131 kW (178 hp), 28,600 kg (63,100 lb) SK260 H&W has a suggested bucket capacity of 1 m3 (1.31 yd3) and a maximum digging reach of 10.3 m (33’9”). The 185 kW (252 hp), 33,400 kg (73,700 lb) SK300 H&W excavator has a suggested 1.2 m3 (1.57 yd3) bucket capacity and has a maximum digging reach of 10.9 m (35’8”). The models have full track guides to eliminate the concern of de-tracking, a reinforced guide frame to withstand heavy impact and large, double-support, outer-flanged upper rollers to withstand powerful vibrations. The SK260 and SK300 H&W excavators can be equipped with various attachments for forestry applications. Source
