John Deere Construction and Forestry announce their engine conversion kit

This will allow Interim Tier 4 machines to be sold where no ultra-low sulphur diesel is available.

Ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD) is diesel fuel with 15 parts per million or lower sulphur content. John Deere predicts that many of their customers will operate Interim Tier 4 (IT4) equipment in areas where high-sulphur diesel is still available. The retrofit kit will allow these engines to burn higher sulphur diesel. The conversion kit will be available in 2015. However, new John Deere equipment that is exported to countries with no ULSD will still have the option of lower tiered engines that meet the local emissions standards. Source: http://www.deere.com/
