This will allow Interim Tier 4 machines to be sold where no ultra-low sulphur diesel is available.
Ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD) is diesel fuel with 15 parts per million or lower sulphur content. John Deere predicts that many of their customers will operate Interim Tier 4 (IT4) equipment in areas where high-sulphur diesel is still available. The retrofit kit will allow these engines to burn higher sulphur diesel. The conversion kit will be available in 2015.
