The Carbon Offset Aggregation Cooperative (COAC) will assist machine owners reduce fuel consumption, and then sell the resultant carbon offsets.The COAC has developed a novel methodology for converting diesel reduction into verified carbon offsets, which can then be transferred, traded or sold. The COAC assists fleet owners by implementing fuel efficiency measures that reduce diesel consumption. The resultant carbon offsets are aggregated and sold by COAC on behalf of the fleet owner.
The COAC assists the fleet owner in overcoming the technological, administrative and financial barriers necessary to make carbon and fuel reduction changes within their organisations. The assistance takes the form of the following:
- Performing all historical baseline calculations
- Implementing system timelines
- Recommending equipment options
- Performing equipment installations
- Providing finance for equipment installations
- Providing operator awareness sessions
- Provide a data tracking system. This system records and reports fuel reductions, as well as report other operational information and behaviour simulations for management decision making
- Administers all data reporting and administration for carbon offset trading
- Provides analytical services and improvement suggestions to members
- Research on-going fuel reduction initiatives
