Is horse logging a thing of the past, or even animal logging in general? Certainly not, it is still widely used in many areas of the world. But where do you find information on this?
Information on horse and animal logging can be found at various sources. However, I stumbled across a very interesting website of the British Horse Loggers. They describe themselves as “an independent group of professional full time and part time contractors who work horses by choice in contemporary forestry”. Their website includes aspects such as how they work, events, training, newsletters and for sale and wanted. You can join the association even if you are just an enthusiast and are not logging with horses.
