Innovative Herzog release a new winch-assist product

The winch system is designed for the Ponsse Buffalo forwarder.

Herzog describes the components that can be mounted onto the forwarder to suite a customer’s specific needs. The high-performance logging winch features tractive forces of between 80 and 120 kN and up to 200 m (650 ft) of steel cable. Customers have the option of mounting one or two winches, which are located on the left or right side of the crane. Hydraulic cable ejection can be used on one or both winches. A new multifunctional rear part provides a hydraulic tail lift with 13 tons of lifting force. The rope entry level can be up to 1.85 m (6 ft) high. It can be used with either a hydraulic clamp load bank or fast-mounting clamp bank. A dozer blade for stability while loading and additional breaking is optional. A remote control is available for the winches. This makes provision for all winch functions. An additional option is to have the operation of the tail lift and dozer blade on the remote as well.
