Improve the log assortment loading efficiency of your forwarder

An innovation by Moisio Forest allows better control of log assortments on a forwarder.

Forwarder productivity is mainly influenced by loading and offloading times. Loading and offloading different log assortments can reduce productivity even further. This is because the different logs usually become mixed in the forwarder bunk, and the operator takes time to select the correct logs during offloading. Moisio Forest has developed a simple, but innovative solution to assist in overcoming this problem. They have developed the Moipu sorting clamp, which is attached to the forwarder bunk. The installation of the sorting clamps is easy and fast, taking 15 minutes for two clamps. The clamps can also be easily removed, allowing them to be re-installed on another forwarder if necessary.

The clamps consist of a simple and reliable structure, which allows mounting to be done on forwarders with different shape and width bunks. The up and down positions can be adjusted according to the bunk. When not required, the sorting clamp is lowered to a position lower than the bunk, and in this way does not take loading space. When the sorting clamps are required, the grapple or a log can be used to quickly raise the clamps, and the same technique is used to lower them. Because of the simple design, the sorting clamps are also very affordable. Source:  http://www.moisioforest.com/en/moipu-sorter
