Eco Log launches their newest generation of 550, 560, 580 and 590 harvesters in 2016

They will be fitted with Volvo Penta D8 engines ranging in power from 218 to 320 hp.

Eco Log and MTU (Mercedes) remain partners. The existing D-series forwarder and 688 continue to be equipped with Mercedes Engines. Eco Log indicates that the choice of the Volvo as an engine supplier was based on their proximity, flexibility and after-sales. As both Volvo and Eco Log are Swedish companies, the close geographic location enable better support and closer partnership. The engine block in the new machines allows Stage IIIA and Stage IV engines to be fitted. This allows the same base machine frames to be used while simultaneously fulfilling the various emission requirements worldwide.

The new Eco Log harvesters are branded in the latest Eco Log colours and will remain equipped with innovative pendulum arms which are able to tilt 25° sideways and a pitch angle of 17° to the front or rear for difficult terrain handling. The harvesters are fitted with five standard hydraulic pumps. Two are for the transmission; two are implement pumps (one for the crane and one to operate the harvester head) and there is one recirculation pump which operates with the new vertically oriented coolers to optimise the cooling capacity of the harvester. Other new features include a cab that is able to rotate 350° to improve improve operator ergonomics and reduce machine movement.
