Cranab presents the largest forwarder crane ever

The Cranab FC16 crane has been developed for the markets largest and most powerful forwarders.

Logging equipment manufacturers have been producing increasingly large forwarders, including machines with up to 20 tonne payloads. The FC16 has been designed to handle the rigorous conditions in which these large forwarders operate. The crane has 8.5 m (28 ft) of reach and can lift 1,310 kg (2,900 lb) at full reach. Gross lifting torque is 165 kNm, and slewing torque is 42.5 kNm.

Cranab have tried to achieve balance between lifting force and slewing effect. This is especially important on steep terrain, where the forwarder must have a crane strong enough to both lift and slew while fully laden in the same motion cycle. The FC16 comes standard as a single telescopic crane, but is also available as a double telescopic crane and as a 10 m (33 ft) version. The Cranab CR360HD, CR360HDX, CR400, CR400X or CR400HD grapples are best suited to the crane.

Like the other new generation cranes produced by Cranab, the FC16 has advanced lifting geometry, a new protected hose routing and a new brake solution between the tip and rotator. It was premiered at the KWF exhibition in Germany from 13 to 16 June. Source: http://www.cranab.se/static/en/
