Cranab acquires Vimek

Vimek has become a 100% owned subsidiary of Cranab.

Cranab had already acquired the majority of Vimek more than five years ago. Both companies have their operations based close to Umea in Sweden. Vimek have become the market leaders in its segment of small and environmentally friendly logging machines in European countries such as Sweden, Poland and the Czech Republic. Vimek has also started selling equipment in countries outside of Europe, such as North America and Japan.

The owners of Vimek were entrepreneurs Lars-Gunnar Nilsson and Nils-Erik Nilsson. Cranab has been developing Vimek products over the last few years with these two owners. Lars-Gunnar will continue to do some product development and consultancy work for Vimek on a part time basis, while Nils-Erik will continue to enjoy his well-earned retirement. Vimek will continue to be led by CEO Fredrik Lundberg, and Fredrik Jonsson will continue as Chairman. Source: http://www.cranab.se/static/en/286/
