Bandit launches their new BTC-300 tracked carrier

It is designed to work in high production land clearing environments.

The BTC-300 has standard Bandit tracked carrier features such as tilting cabs for better maintenance access, interchangeable mowing and stump grinding attachments for versatility and separate hydraulic systems for the attachments and drive components. The new tier 4 engine used is larger and heavier than previous engines which necessitated extensive redesign. The design team used this opportunity to make other fundamental changes and updates based on customer input. The cabs have better visibility, are much quieter and are larger. Other features include better manoeuvrability, more track power, easier-to-access service points, more clearance for the track chain (reduces noise and the tracks clean up easier), engine power is increased to 230 kW (315 hp), cutting width is increased from 183 cm (72 in) to 229 cm (90 in), torque to the stump grinding head has increased by 30 and the grinding wheel size has increased to112 cm (44 in) in diameter.

To fit the new engine, the BTC-300 had to get wider, taller and longer to fit the engine. This is the first Bandit machine to use a unibody steel frame instead of steel beams. This gives additional strength despite the extra width, and saved weight and production costs. To improve visibility for the operator, all controls were moved out of the operator’s view. A full-front clear polycarbonate window that is 1 ¼” thick is used. This was used to remove all the guards that hindered vision and still be FOPS/ROPS/OPS certified. For ease of operation, all controls are now either on the button pad or the joysticks. Control functions can be programmed and customized for individual preferences, and two settings can be saved so multiple operators can easily switch between their preferred settings. Source
