Agricultural tractors 1 Improved stability of agricultural tractors when using harvesting attachments

Nisula produces a support wheel to allow improved stability of agricultural tractors, especially when using a boom at or near full reach.

As loggers, we are aware that agricultural tractors have many limitations when used in timber harvesting. One of the major problems is stability. Forestry extraction machines usually have a greater proportion of their unladen weight on their front wheels or axles, while wheeled harvesters have more weight on the rear axle. The implication is that when the machine is laden or operating, good weight distribution is maintained. When agricultural tractors have attachments mounted beyond the rear axle, the tractors stability can be severely compromised, especially when a crane is used which must reach some distance away from the tractor.

Nisula has overcome some of these stability problems by mounting a support wheel on the tractor’s three-point linkage, and by using a crane mounting kit. This patented system stabilises the tractor when working on difficult terrain, prevents the tractor swaying and improves steering. This increases operator comfort, safety and productivity. The support wheel can be lifted when it is not required. Source: www.nisulaforest.com
