A new clear grease gun to prevent the incorrect grease being applied

60 to 80% of bearing failures are due to cross-contamination of grease. Now, one can visually ensure the correct grease is being applying without opening the grease gun.

The latest product from Plews is the UltraView clear, polycarbonate shatterproof barrel grease gun. The clear tube allows proper identification of the grease type inside the grease gun. It is also easier to see how much grease is remaining in the barrel. The clear tubes are sold in seven colours. The different colours can be coordinated with various pieces of equipment to ensure that the correct grease is used with each machine.

Ultraview lever action or pistol grease guns are equipped with a high-tolerance aluminium headcap, a heavy duty spring, and large rolled threads for quick cleaning and reloading. The grease gun has a variable stroke feature built-in for use in confined areas. It is able to develop very good flow rates and pressure; all while being operated with one hand.

Lube Point Positive ID washers are used underneath the grease fitting. These are also available in seven colours, which allow the washers, the grease gun, grease and grease fittings to be matched to avoid cross-contamination. Clear suction guns are also available to drain any type of non-corrosive liquid, which allows the user to see if dirt or impurities exist. The barrel holds 0.47 l (1 pint) and comes with a 30 cm (12 in) clear hose. Source: www.plews-edelmann.com
