The project aims to extend the service life of used forest machines and increase the reuse of machine components
Ponsse is launching the ExtendedLIFE project, funded by the EU’s LIFE Programme. As part of the project, Ponsse will establish a Refactory in Iisalmi, Finland, where used machines can be refurbished or dismantled and recycled on an industrial scale. The ExtendedLIFE project develops new solutions that enable more efficient refurbishment, reuse and recycling of forest machine components.
Ponsse has already established circular economy processes for forest machine components. In 2010, a remanufacturing unit was established in Iisalmi, where components are refurbished for reuse. The operation has gradually expanded. In 2025, the volume of refurbished or reused spare parts reached 222 tonnes. Through the ExtendedLIFE project, these operations will be further expanded and developed on an industrial scale.
The project also includes the development of a digital marketplace for remanufactured components and training for personnel, dealers and value chain partners in circular economy and remanufacturing practices. Ponsse is utilising digital tools and AI-based solutions in the project to anticipate maintenance needs and direct components for refurbishment, reuse or recycling.
ExtendedLIFE is a project funded by the EU’s LIFE Programme in which Ponsse develops the remanufacturing and recycling of forest machine components on an industrial scale. Rottne Industri introduces the new Rottne H13F – a harvester that steps into a new machine class
The new harvester combines the agility of the proven H11 platform with increased capacity, higher performance, and a completely new level of operator comfort. With the H13F, Rottne introduces a machine developed for operators who want more power and greater capabilities – without compromising flexibility. The machine builds on the H11E platform but has been upgraded with larger 26.5-inch bogie wheels, improved stability, and significantly enhanced terrain performance. In the 8WD configuration, the machine is also extended by 250 mm (9.8 in), further improving stability and operator confidence in demanding terrain.
The increased working pressure of 280 bar combined with a 10.3-m (33.8 ft) crane gives the H13F the capacity to handle larger harvesting heads such as the SP661 Lite and Log Max 6000V. At the same time, a 6WD version is available for operators who prioritize maximum agility and a compact machine format. For those who prefer a larger chassis for thinning operations, the machine can also be equipped with an 11.3 m (37.1 ft) crane combined with smaller harvesting heads.
To match the demands of the larger machine class that the Rottne H13F is now entering, tractive force has also been upgraded to a full 200 kN – ensuring the right conditions even in tougher environments. With the Rottne H13F, Rottne also introduces the next step in the F-series harvester cab. The cab features extensive upgrades with a focus on ergonomics, comfort, and the working environment. New features include a new control system, a new electrical centre, updated control panels with 7-button harvester joysticks, and an electric mini steering wheel integrated into the right armrest.
The interior has also received a redesigned dashboard layout with an improved sense of space and enhanced visibility. Practical features such as smart storage solutions, cup holders, and a lunchbox heater are included as standard. Climate comfort has also been improved through a more efficient climate control system and smarter airflow management. At the same time, safety has been further enhanced with stronger safety glass and larger opening rear emergency exits, improving both safety and visibility. Source
Performance, controllability and modularity for the most common forwarder classes
As timber harvesting operations demand higher productivity, improved operator control and greater versatility across applications, Kesla introduces its new generation of forwarder cranes. The new F-series covers the size classes Kesla 9F/FT, 10F/FT, 12F/FT and 14F/FT. The range has been developed to meet these evolving industry requirements by combining performance, precision and modularity with proven durability and life-cycle efficiency.
The four size classes in the new range offer a gross lifting moment of 120–180 kNm, covering a wide spectrum of the most common forwarder sizes. Each model is available both as a single-extension F-version (reach 8.2 m – 26.9 ft) and a double-extension FT-version (reach 10.1 m – 33.1 ft), enabling an optimal solution for varying operational and reach requirements. Two different pillar height options for each model allow flexible integration with different base machines and applications.
The Kesla F-series has been developed as a unified product family, where key structural solutions and operational characteristics remain consistent throughout the range. During development, extensive customer feedback from existing cranes on the market was collected and combined with comprehensive field testing across different markets. The cranes have been tested in multiple applications and on various base machines, with highly positive user feedback – particularly regarding motion control, power feel and swing torque.

Volvo Trucks keeps pushing the boundaries for electric truck transport
With the launch of its new electric trucks with improved performance, flexibility and ranges up to 700 km (435 mi), this is a new benchmark for electric heavy-duty trucks. A new long-distance electric truck is released, the FH Aero Electric with extended range, capable of driving up to 700 km (435 mi) on one charge, which is a breakthrough for heavy electric trucks and driving the really long distances. The next-generation heavy-duty Volvo FH, FM and FMX Electric trucks, with major improvements in flexibility, productivity, driving comfort and with ranges up to 470 km (292 mi), making it possible to switch to electric truck operations for even more transport assignments.
The Volvo FH Aero Electric with extended range, can drive longer distances on one charge thanks to a new driveline technology, the e-axle, which creates space for significantly more battery capacity onboard. The truck is adapted to the new MCS (Megawatt Charging System) standard and charging the 8 batteries from 20% to 80% will take approximately 50 minutes. This means charging can be done within the legislated rest period for truck drivers in the EU, thereby contributing to high productivity.
The new FH, FM and FMX Electric trucks have an all-new driveline designed for maximum flexibility across different applications. It offers excellent drivability and is engineered so that the driver can drive the truck and power auxiliary equipment such as a concrete mixer, hook lift or refuse unit without extra motors or add-ons. This is due to an integrated gearbox power take-off (PTO) with increased functionality enabling usage during driving. The trucks can be charged from 20% to 80% in approximately 65 minutes.

JCB has updated its LiveLink telematics platform with a series of developments designed to help customers improve profitability, safety and sustainability across their operations. The latest updates see expanded safety and security functionality added across the platform. These include new remote machine management features.
JCB LiveLink is designed to help customers monitor and maintain their machines more effectively. Currently connecting more than 580,000 machines worldwide and supporting over 40,000 customers, JCB LiveLink is accessible through a web browser and mobile app and covers JCB and mixed fleets. The system provides information on machine location, utilisation, fuel consumption, maintenance requirements and security, helping customers maximise uptime, improve fuel efficiency and make more informed operational decisions.
Fleet managers can remotely adjust a range of machine settings including Auto Stop parameters, speed limit controls, IntelliSense activation, tyre pressure monitoring settings and remote PIN management. The new functionality allows machine settings to be managed without visiting the machine, helping management teams improve operational practices, support site compliance and enhance machine security.
Tyre pressure monitoring information can also be viewed remotely, helping identify low tyre pressures that can affect fuel consumption, machine mobility and tyre life. LiveLink continues to expand its safety and security capabilities through a combination of machine monitoring, operator checks and real-time alerts. Customers can configure health alerts, maintenance notifications, geofencing and out-of-hours alerts to help identify potential issues early and flag unauthorised machine use.
Automated reports and flexible monitoring tools help business owners, fleet managers and site teams track machine performance across multiple assets and locations. By identifying underused equipment, excessive idle time and unnecessary fuel consumption, customers can improve working practices, lower operating costs and support preventative maintenance programmes.
