UD Trucks releases a heavy-duty truck for developing markets

The new Quester is designed to be a robust truck with simple maintenance requirements.

The Quester is a versatile platform that can be used for a number of applications including longhaul, distribution, construction and mining. It will be available in 4x2, 6x2, 6x4 and 8x4 configurations for distribution and longhaul, and 6x4 and 8x4 for construction and mining work. The bogie suspension has been designed for rough conditions where durability and reliability are key criteria. The 6x2 can be fitted with a bogie lifting axle. The Quester also has a hub reduction tandem axle for improved durability and ground clearance for harsh conditions.

Two engine alternatives will be available. An eight litre engine (GH8E) is suited to the distribution and construction work, while the 11 litre engine (GH11E) is suited to the longhaul application. The Quester comes with a heavy-duty chassis with a range of chassis layouts including different wheelbases, fuel tank sizes and exhaust directions. The table below provides an overview of the different configurations.
