The new narrower version is only 2.4 m wide (7.9 ft) making it even more nimble in thinning.
Rottne is now launching the F10D thinning forwarder in a new narrower version. The F10D was originally designed as a small and versatile forwarder, ideal for working in dense thinning stands. Now, with the new narrow version, it allows one to manoeuvre effortlessly when thinning and be well-suited to the Rottne H8D thinning harvester.
Rottne indicates that the market for small machines is continually growing, giving Rottne confidence to be able to manufacture and produce this forwarder. The normal version of the Rottne F10D has a width of 2580 mm (8.5 ft). The new model will be 180 mm (7 in). It may not sound like much, but this 18 cm in the forest can be critical – and together with the 45 degree steering angle makes a large difference.
The forwarder moves easily through the forest and at the same time results in less of an impact on residual trees and leaves narrower branch roads. This width is also a requirement for specific international markets, which makes it attractive and interesting in those countries. The new narrower Rottne F10D is delivered with the wheel size 500/60×22.5 instead of 600/50×22.5 or 710/40×22.5. It also has narrower bunks. The load area is 3.6 m2. Source
